The resurrection of Lazarus is a sign that anticipates the resurrection to eternal life at the end of the age for all who believe in Jesus. It signifies the goal of new birth and points to new creation – the glorification of humanity, and of all creation. It also signifies the nature of the resurrection, the resurrection of the body – the physical body will be raised and glorified, no longer corrupted by sin, no longer subject to mortality.
