Jesus proclaimed, “I AM the light of the world!” The words I AM remind us of God’s self-revelation to Moses before the burning bush on Mt. Sinai in Exodus 3. God’s name is Yahweh – I AM THAT AM. Since the days Jesus walked among humanity, the light of Christ is shining and the darkness of the world can neither comprehend, nor overcome. Those who believe in Christ anticipate a new creation in which there will be “no longer be any night; nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illuminate them” (Revelation 22:5).
