I believe that all lives matter, therefore Black Lives Matter. Like many of my friends, white and black, I support the slogan “Black Lives Matter.” Also, like many of my friends, white and black, I cannot support the agenda of the Black Lives Matter organization which is Marxist, anti-family, and pro LGBT (LGBT civil rights should be affirmed, but their agenda to normalize sexual immorality should be resisted). I have noticed that many friends have sought to make a distinction between local BLM chapters and the national organization.
Here’s the rub: corporate donors are funding the national organization. With millions of dollars coming from corporate donors the BLM national organization will relentlessly promote their agenda. If successful, that agenda will destroy Black lives.
So, black Christians and black churches must call the BLM organization to account. They must resist the anti-Christian, anti-family agenda of the BLM organization. To fail to do so will mean that the next generation of young black men and women will forsake their Christian faith in favor of the BLM dogma.
Yes, I am a white male. For some of my black friends, that means I should just shut up. Even so, I speak because I deeply care about the flourishing of all peoples. Therefore, white Christians and white churches must resist all forms of racism. We should protest injustice hand-in-hand with our black brothers and sisters. We should support the efforts of black churches and black Christian leaders as they continue the long struggle towards justice. We should be willing to see the world through their eyes. White Christians should be willing to declare Black Lives Matter!
